With just over a year of planning and fundraising, the club hosted a successful 1993 National Bearded Collie Specialty and went on to host the BCCA National Specialty in the Sonoma Wine County in 1997, the BCCA National in Monterey Bay in 2002 and the 2009 National Specialty in Northern California.

In addition to conformation, the Bearded Collie Club of the Golden West has grown to a very versatile membership actively participating in many other events including agility, herding and obedience.
