Action, Education and Advocacy for Bearded Collie Lovers
The Bearded Collie Club of the Golden West was founded in 1991 with the purpose of bringing breeders and conformation beardie owners together to host the 1993 Bearded Collie Club of America National Specialty in San Francisco.
At that time there were no AKC recognized regional bearded collie clubs in California. However there was a great deal of interest from the national club in enjoying a beautiful California "Indian Summer" in the Golden West.
With just over a year of planning and fundraising, the club hosted a successful 1993 National Bearded Collie Specialty and went on to host the BCCA National Specialty in the Sonoma Wine County in 1997 and the BCCA National in Monterey Bay in 2002.
In addition to conformation, the Bearded Collie Club of the Golden West has grown to a very versatile membership actively participating in many other events including agility, herding and obedience.
